The Nottingham Lions are pleased to announce the first four signings of the 2011-2012 season, Jack Hall, Matt Greaves, Craig Wallis & Cameron Good.

We welcome back Jack Hall to Nottingham after a couple of years out in the cold and having to apply his trade in Kingston in the ENL 2. But the 6ft blueliner is sure to have more of an impact this season.

Coach Says – “He is a big guy for his age and is not afraid to get stuck in where it hurts.  He has presence on the blue line and shoots the puck well from the point.  When he makes the full transition to ENL 1 hockey and gets fully up to speed he will do well.”

Matt Greaves is another familiar face to return to the lions, “Greavsie” is another Nottingham player that has come through the ranks that has been away from the sport for a year.

Coach Says – “His passion for the sport shows through and he is a committed individual that is not afraid to get in the corners and where it hurts.  He is a likeable member of the team that should come on leaps and bounds with the support of his more experienced team defence partners.”

Craig Wallis is another Nottingham talent that is now ready to make the transition to senior hockey and is sure to progress well.

Coach Says – “I have had the opportunity to work closely with him over the past couple of seasons.  He works hard in training and is generally a quieter member of the squad.  He is a real “steady eddy” that again is going to be a valuable member of the Lions for years to come.  Once he gets up to speed and gets his confidence Craig will do well.”

Lastly we welcome back Cameron Good to the club on the blue line as he has been away for a number of seasons playing his game out of Telford.

Coach Says – “He will be a key member of the 18’s team and also has the opportunity to learn more and push his game to the next level by working with the Lions squad on training nights.  Having worked with Cam previously I’m sure once the opportunity arises he will take it with both hands.  He is a big lad that is progressing nicely.”
