The Nottingham Lions' opening game of the NIHL Laidler D2 season, on Saturday 6th September, has today been confirmed as a double points match.

The Lions will now play a 34 game season, with one home and one away game against the Eagles being cancelled, in favour of playing the remaining home and away games for double points.

This means that the Lions versus Eagles home fixture at the National Ice Centre, on Sunday 28th September 2014 has been cancelled, along with the trip to Blackburn Arena on Saturday 24th January 2015.

Sunday 15th March 2015 remains in the calendar as the Eagles' solitary visit to the Lions' den, where once again, four points will be up for grabs for the victors.
